Mob Rules (Black Sabbath) Easter Egg - Personal Message for Ozzy Osbourne

Located in the center of the bottom of the cover is a message from the members of Black Sabbath. Written in blood or (red Paint) is the inscription "Kill Ozzy". The word kill is in the rocks and the word ozzy is just below it and to the right.

This is a very interesting one, I have spoken to Greg Hildebrandt, the artist, and he said that he did not put that line in his original artwork. It is without a doubt there, and he said that he has never asked the band about it. My assumption, is that Sabbath hated Ozzy at the time and Ozzy hated Sabbath, so they just wanted to stab him in the back after he left to embark on his solo career. I just want to say however, that this is the coolest Sabbath album that exists with the coolest cover. Long live Dio.

First of all Ozzy did leave Black Sabbath, He was not fired and he left on good terms otherwise Black Sabbath wouldn't be at Oz Fest, plus that is what Ozzy's Song Goodbye to Romance is all about he left Sabbath cause he just wanted to do his own Thing. Any real Ozzy and Black Sabbath fan would know That. Just for everyones info. no harm intended.

Ozzy was fired. Flat out. In fact (as any real Sabbath fan can tell ya) Sharon Arden was the daughter of Sabbath's manager Don. When the whole thing went down (in a VERY ugly way) Sharon left her father's company and against his wishes she became Ozzy's manager. We all know what happened after that. Now regarding the Sabbath/Ozzy/Dio bad blood - if you want to see how deep it goes check out the Ozzy 'Speak of the Devil' album and tour. See that little Jawa looking guy? His name was 'Ronnie the Dwarf' - This is Ozzy's way of ragging on RJD for being so short...Also on that tour Ozzy had 'Ronnie' come out like a servent and hand him a drink. Remeber people - there WAS an Ozzy and Sabbath before MTV...but all real Sabbath fans already knew that. This album does have some great artwork on the cover and is IMO one of the best Sabbath albums out there. =) \m/ Long Live Ronnie James Dio
