King, Stephen Easter Egg - John D. McDonald--Best Friend

You will have to read the books yourself, because I have forgotten the titles. However, on two seperate books Stephen King has one of his Characters reading one of John McDonald's books.
During that same time period (real time)John D.McDonald made references in two of his books where one of his characters are reading books written by Stephen King. Sort of a Tit for Tat
between friends.
Also just after John D. McDonald died, Stephen King came out with his next Novel dedicated to his best friend now deceased whom he didn't idenify.

I seem to remember that in King's novella "The Body" (upon which the movie "Stand By Me" was based) there was one point where the main character was looking at some books he wanted to buy. He found one (or some) book(s) written by John McDonald and mentioned that he was his favorite author. I'm fairly certain of this.
