War of The Worlds (2005) Easter Eggs

When Tom Cruise's character is in the basement with TIm Robbins, Tom cruise looks out a window and you see what is a pale, off-color view. If you look closey. you can notice that the view in the window is an actual movie clip from the original 1953 movie.

In the basement scene with the crazy guy played by Tim Robbins: Right after the aliens make their appearence, they investigate a bicycle that is hanging on the wall. I believe the bike is an homage to Spielberg's E.T. (it even has a basket).

When Tom Cruise and his daughter are in the basement with Tim Robbins, a searching snake like machine comes looking for them.

In fact the head of this machine is almost identical to the laser of the original WotW movie:

This is sweet. In the very first scene where the machines come out of the ground, behind Tom Cruise you can see Morgan Freeman running. This is so cool.

At the very beggining of the film, when Tom Cruise is driving his Mustang, he sort of skips through a red light, after this you can hear a man honking his horn and screaming at him in spanish. Turn your speakers up and listen carefully to what he screams.
