Grace Lee Whitney, who starred in the Original Series has Yeoman Janice Rand, has a cameo in the film as the Starfleet Officer who first rises to welcome the battered Enterprise home to Spacedock. She also had a cameo in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
