Starcraft Easter Egg - Terran Marine Eggs, Literally

At any point in a single player mission, on an Installation level, place a single marine in front of a rocket launcher. He will get killed. If you place another marine there, on his corpse, he will walk into the rocket launcher and begin laying eggs, and zerglings come out, under your control!

Where/How on earth do you get the rocket launcher?

actually, "turrets", as he calls them, are 2 different doodads in the installation tileset. one shoots missiles, the other one has 4 guns. there are also wall-mounted versions of them both.

Maybe they mean the surface to air misile dovies on the SCV standard build menu.

Ghost Knight writes:
No, because: a) Missile turrets, the buildings, can't attack marines b) Buildings cannot be constructed on the installation tileset

It's probably fake-They left no name or e-mail, left no specifics on actual things like this rocket launcher, whatever that is, and most everyone playing Starcraft will have something newer than 1.04, and this is a relatively new post, so...yeah, I think it's fake.

Ghost Knight is right. He is reffering to the missile turrets that pop up during a game in the installation tile set (the one that is indoors). There are also machine gun turrets that pop up.

its not fake at all! the rocket launcher is built in the wall as a trap for your marines and comes out and fires when you get close to it!

Did he mean the wall-mounted or floor-mounted missle traps? Did this trick work for anyone?

I'm guessing he is talking about the Right Wall/Left Wall Missile Traps. I tried this on the level where Raynor and a small team have to get the Confederate Data Disc .... it didn't work. I have Brood Wars, so it might work on earlier version of Starcraft.

id say its a fake... because those things shoot pretty fast, they would mow down both marines....

Oh man this is too funny. Way too funny. I can see that you people have never tried to make your own map. If you go to campaign editor and select the installation tile, it puts the map on installation. Then you go to the Doodads window. You scroll through that and look for the Missile Trap. THIS IS NOT A MISSILE TURRET. AN SCV CANNOT BUILD IT. Thank you for your cooperation.

He means the left/right missle traps. THIS EGG WILL NOT WORK. I HAVE TRIED IT MULTIPLE TIMES WITH STARCRAFT AND BROODWARS. The only cool thing that happens is, if you call it a cool thing, that your two marines die. Thank you.

You have obviously not played the campain mode and made a feeble attempt to sound smart...yes there are missle turrets on the walls. There are also flamethrowers on the walls and guns on the ground. What you misconstrued was that we were talking about the turrets that you can BUILD, but no, we are talking about the trap that is only found in the insallation mode.

Of course, the MG traps look like the missles.....and for all of you who have tried it with the SCV turrets, trust me, im laughing at you right now. If you had half a brain, you would realize that the missle turrets are anti AIR not anti infantry......yes, the traps are there, just do two things to find em: 1) open the installation tileset 2) LOOK for it
