Simpsons, The Easter Egg - Fry in Background

In the episode where they go to a state fair, and end up getting a race horse, after the part when homer is talking to the horse, when they both walk off screen, in the background Fry from Futurama is leaning against the fence. Not a big deal, but its fun to look for.

Actually mike hbc pat is right. You are mistaken as to which episode pat is taking about. It is not "Lisa's Pony" which did indeed air in 1991 but a much later episode. You will notice pat refers to a state fair. In "Lisa's pony" there is no state fair. I don't know the proper title but it must be from the latest series as it only aired (in the UK at least) a few months ago, after Futurama had started. Basically the Simpsons rescue Duncan the incredible diving horse from the state fair after Chief Wiggam confiscates it from its original owner for animal cruelty. They later rename the horse "Furious D" enter races and win lots of money with him. The fat comic book guy makes an appearance and refers to the "Lisa's pony" episode but they are completely separate episodes, many years apart. I too saw Fry standing in the background so this is actually a good find by pat and NOT coincidence.

Yes, his name is Hans Moleman. My all-time favorite appearance of him was in the episode where Bart becomes Mr. Burns's heir; when Bart doesn't love Homer and Marge anymore, they decide to get a psychiatrist to get him to love them. The psychiatrist can be seen running into a hotel room with a bundle, and you find out later that it was Hans Moleman. He comes by dressed like Bart holding a skateboard and says "Hi, dudes". Homer introduces Bart to his new brother and starts kissing Hans on the head. Homer says it's "like kissing a peanut" - it's hilarious!

The Comic Book Store guy is also supposed to represent all of the fans who make critical comments about the series, and say it isn't as good as it used to be (in my opinion, he's right). In the second horse episode- the one mentioned above, with the state fair, when one of the Simpsons asks, "can we take care of a horse?" he says something like, "this actually happened a number of years ago, when Lisa got a horse, and you couldn't take care of it," and everyone tells him to shut up. After the closing credits of that episode (not one of the best), you hear him saying, "Worst episode *ever*" (which resembles something he said in an earlier episode.

Actually, his name is indeed Jasper. The only time he was called "Frostillicus" was when he was trapped inside the Kwik-E-Mart freezer case. Apu had named him that, most likely because it was much more mysterious sounding. In "Who Shot Mr. Burns ?" you can actually hear them naming him as Jasper. First up, to the person who said that Comic Book Store Guy's name is Jo, I'm sure you an Matt Groening are very good friends, but until they mention his name on the show, he is nameless. Similarly, years ago, if you asked the writers, they would have told you that Smithers is married and has children. In fact, they even wrote that into an episode but it ended up on the cutting room floor. Luck for us, huh? Secondly, I think that the person who stated that Jasper's names was Frostillicus was joking. Unless he actually thinks that the mayor's real name is Diamond Joe and that the little boy's real name is El Barto.

The bumblebee guy's name may "bee" Pedro. You can see the name on his bowling jersey in the Pin Pals episode. He is based on a famous character named "Chesperito". As far as I'm concerned, the only nameless regular characters are the comic book store guy and the squeaky voiced teen (from the Aztec theater and video arcade). Maybe I'm wrong about the teen. Anybody know Judge Snyder's first name? That may be a tough/impossible one.

to _Ronin_ :Carl's last name is Carlson. Lenny's last name is Leanord. I believe the lunch lady/ school nurse/ one-time gym teacher (Lisa's in an episode) name is Doris. I remember on one episode -can't remember which, Principal Skinner said something to somebody about "LunchLady Doris" and pointed to her. Also, the "teenage pubescent" boy's name isn't really 'Pop', and the girl he wanted to hook up with isn't really named 'Mom'. Those are just clever titles for their JOBS. Furthermore, how did everyone get into a discussion about unknown names on the Simpsons from Fry being on an episode? If you ask me, some of you need to get a life.
