Quake 3 Easter Egg - Do Not Invoke the Arena Masters

Just fire up Quake III and start a server on any level. (I used Q3DM17)
To make this very easy to do, stick one bot in there (I used Crash. She says cool stuff.), and make it the easiest skill setting. Now jump to the railgun pad out there, and you can carry on a conversation with her if you want. But that's not the reason for this. Say "Adrian Carmack sucks!"
Or use any other programmer's name in place of Adrian Carmack. She'll say a couple lines on why you shouldn't. Fairly interesting.
I haven't tried this with anyone else besides Crash.

When you use Crash, "invoke the arena masters" and then tell her you love her. Follow up with some simple replies and you'll see how much fun gaming can be! [Especially for all of you who can't find a lovely young lady to call your own! :)]

The reason all the bots chat with you is they all have a common chat file that has pre-programmed chats when they see specific words in the chat you send. This file is rchat.c and is NOT compiled. No code except the engine is really compiled, but stored in the PAK#.pk3 files (These are actually ZIP Archive's with the extention renamed). If you open PAK0.pk3 and extract the rchat.c file, you can edit what the bots say when they see specific words. Also, each bot has their own files for chatting. These files are a pain to edit and add back into the game, but if you figure out how, its a lot of fun to customize bots or create your own bots. I would write and entire "how to" to create your own bots, but that will be published on my website... soon!
