Talented Mr. Ripley Easter Egg - "Bird" Lives!

The main character, played by Jude Law, is Dickie Greenleaf. He is a major jazz fanatic and plays the alto saxophone in the film. He has a sailboat that happens to be named "Bird," which was Charlie Parker's nickname-- himself an esteemed alto sax player.

For a saxophone player to name his boat after another more famous singer is hardly an egg, in fact, it makes perfect sense for someone to name a precious possession after an idol. That would be like if he were a Yankee fan and named it Bambino or a hockey fan naming it Gordie.
