Half-Life 2 Easter Egg - Dr. Breen Has a Posse

There is a poster you can find virtually everywhere after leaving City 17 the first time of a black and white shadow-highlight with a picture of what is obviously Dr. Breen with the lone word "RESIST" in stencil below his face.

I noticed instantly what the developers were playing on: Shepard Fairey's now infamous "OBEY Giant" poster which was a spin-off of his also infamous "Andre the Giant Has a Posse" poster which has been found 'mysteriously' posted in all corners of the world by random people after it's creation in 1986.

I absolutely loved this egg as an incredibly clever and specific reference with great context.

I don't believe this is a tribute to the OBEY series, but I see where the connection is made. The fact that it says "Resist" on the Brenner posters could be a parody, but if they were Brenner posters with "OBEY" on them, then it would be clear as day. Either way, good eye and good taste.

You know, all the eggs posted about Half Life (classic, 2, episode 1/2...) all are amazing.. the team behind the whole set has an awesome sense of humor.. everyone comments about each Easter egg that they personally find amusing... what i really appreciate with Half Life is that it has attracted a lot of people with it's Easter eggs... and personally, this is the best... i call it "Big Time Subliminal Messaging" :D
