Half Life 2: Episode 2 Easter Egg - Casserole Amends

When you finally reach White Forest you'll be instructed how to utilize the 'Magnusson orbs' for a purpose I'll not mention just in case it'd be a spoiler to anyone.

Dr. Magnusson says to Gordon that if he is successful in that goal he "just might forgive him for the debacle at Black Mesa" which leads one to believe he means the infamous meltdown. He then says "I'm talking about a certain casserole incident" or something to that effect.

In the original Half-Life (PC/PS2) you are able to walk around Black Mesa before getting into your H.E.V. Suit and heading to the work station. With this freedom I wandered into the break room lounge and pressed the button on the microwave THREE separate times. When you do this the man's casserole explodes. That man was apparently Dr. Magnusson, I had no clue until now. What a great tie-in all this time later.

Nice catch, man. Half-life (as well as the sequel) was filled with ester eggs and more or less hidden humorous bits. That's one of the many things that make this series great.
