Pink Floyd's The Wall Easter Egg - An allude to Syd.

1.) Insert 'Pink Floyd's the Wall' into your DVD player.

2.) Let the main menu load.

3.) Notice the music that is playing. It isn't found anywhere in the movie itself (If I'm not mistaken). In fact it's not even on the bands 'The Wall' Album. So what is the significance of it here? Well, First off, The song is 'Shine on You crazy Diamond' from Pink Floyd's album entitled Wish You Were Here. The song is an allude to the former frontman of the band, Syd Barret. Syd had a mental breakdown in May of 1967 and had to leave the group. As a result, Roger Waters wrote the 17 plus minute song as an allude to the artist. So why is it here on the main menu of the DVD. Well, as many may know, The character of Pink in the movie was loosly based on Syd Barret himself. For example the scene where Pink shaves his body. This was something that Syd did also. (This information is comfirmed on the documentaries in the DVD's 'Special Features' menu)

Well. Thats it. Hope you enjoy. Happy Hunting.

This isn't an Easter Egg. Anyone with access to the internet can find out this info if they are so inclined. This reads more like a snobbish attempt at showcasing your knowledge of Pink Floyd.

Thats a complete contradiction. Then any egg listed here on eeggs.com would be irrelevant. Its very clearly an easter egg. And yes, knowing the back-story to an egg is important. I don't know what else you want in an egg. Its nothing anyone would notice right off and its not exactly common knowledge.
