Law & Order: SVU Easter Egg - The Origins of Munch

Richard Belzer appears on the third episode of Season 5 of the X-Files (titled "Unusual Suspects"). He plays Detective Munch in Law & Order SVU and in this particular episode of the X-Files he also plays a Detecive Munch of Baltimore Homicide who interrogates John of The Lone Gunmen. If anything it would explain Munch's conspiracy theories on SVU and it also helps to know that Belzer is himself a conspiracy theorist.

Detective Munch predates both shows, he comes originally from a show called "Homicide: Life on the Streets". Homicide, X-Files and the L&O shows are all part of the collosal "Tommyverse": shows that have crossed over with St Elsewhere (or crossed over with a cross-over, or crossed with a cross with a cross-over and so on.) St Elsewhere finished with the revelation that the entire story had been the mental product of an autistic child. See http://www.poobala.com/crossoverlistb.html#St.%20Elsewhere
