Sonic Adventure 2: Battle Easter Egg - Shadow Inspired by "Ender's Game"?

One thing I noticed while reading Ender's Game for school was the star's similarities to Shadow the Hedgehog. They were both created by scientists and they both don't want to forfill their creator's duties of destroying a race. I then noticed the third book in the series was titled "Shadow of the Hegemon". Sounds like "Shadow the Hedgehog", doesn't it.
