Deep Impact Easter Egg - Tidal Wave References

When Tia Leoni searches the web for info on the mysterious acronym E.L.E., a couple of web-banners appear down the right-hand side of her screen.

These banners all advertise slogans which refer to the the huge tidal wave at the end of the movie. For instance a Cruise Liner has the slogan "You've got a whole lot of ocean coming your way!". And "The wave of the future" for a sound studio.

There are some more I think, check them out.

Erm, that's called IRONY sweetheart. It's a literary device used in many works of literature and film. It means we, the audience, know something the characters do not.

Wrong, pimpernel. Your definition of irony is correct, but this is not irony; it's foreshadowing. Since we are given clues as to what will happen, but do not actually know, it can't be ironic.

The correct term that should be used is not just irony. It is Dramatic Irony.
