Sim City 4 Easter Egg - Secret Movie Maker

If you bring up the cheat box (Ctrl + X) and type in ‘recorder’ (without the quotes) in the top-left hand corner a box will appear. In this box are the specifications for a movie. These are name, the rate of frames per second, the time the movie records for, and the type of image the frames are (bmp, png, or jpg). On the screen is a box. This is the area each frame takes up. You can change the size of this box by dragging the edges. Press start for the computer to start recording, Snap to take a snapshot, and Close to close the recorder.

When your movie has finished recording, another box will appear asking if you want to write out the frames. Click Yes. You can find all of the frames in a folder called
C:/My Documents/Sim City 4/RecordedAnimations.
If you are a dab hand with Windows Movie Maker or and other movie making program, you can make a pretty decent ’home movie’ of the happenings in your city!
