Shaun Of The Dead Easter Egg - Kill the Queen

ok, go to the part where everyone is in the Winchester and the song "Dont Stop Me Now" by Queen starts playing, as Ed, Shaun, and Liz are discussing what they should do about the "zombie" situation, Shaun Shouts to David "David, kill the Queen". this is a reference to the movie Resident evil, where the whole plot is to kill an AI computer called the Red Queen, which also features a many of zombies.

It may actually be related to the Queen song "Killer Queen"

This is actually a pretty generic take of monster movies, where there's a 'Queen' baddie, whereas obviously in the film they're referring to the song. I should know, I was one of the zombies at the windows when they were filming this scene ;-)

I'm more inclined to believe the joke revolves around the fact that, currently, England has a Queen as a monarch and there happens to be a band named Queen. It's a pun. The end.

Well, it's like saying,"kill the lights" instead of, "turn off the lights." Shaun means, "turn off Queen" (In which later he asks, "Why is Queen still on?"). Since England has a queen, he adds the "the" for comidic purposes... "Kill the Queen"... which is why David remarks "What?!"
