Halo Easter Egg - Emblems

1. Run Halo.
2. Enter Campaign mode.
3. Go to the difficulty selection menu.

See the emblems on the shields in the pictures? That odd mark is the logo for Marathon, an obscure, yet still entertaining game published nearly a decade ago by Bungie for the Mac OS, before Bungie made it big with Halo. A few more obscure references:
-The skull adorning the "Legendary" shield is that of the main enemy in Marathon, the Pfhor.
-The rocket launcher has a model label on its side: SPNKR. This was the label of the rocket launcher in Marathon.

There's even one in the Halo logo! Just look for the spoon looking shape inside the circle. In you zoom in on Captain Keys's shirt, his big patch next to his name is the logo.

That emblem on Legendary is of an elite. Elites have elongated heads, and the 4 mandibles. Even if the thing you're thinking of in Marathon looked like it, wouldn't it make more sense if it was an elite?

Actually, Microsoft revealed that Master Chief is the main character from the game Marathon, which explains why those emblems are there. Apparently, Halo is a continuation of Marathon or something.

Well, obviously the Elite was modeled after the Pfhor. Once again, another reference. I came across a page with a bunch of these, though I forgot the URL... It did say the Marathon logo was on the Pillar of Autumn, but I forgot where.

if you all look at the main menue in halo 1 it is small and obscure but you can see on the tight side ti says "all your base are belong to us" witch is from a really old game that got translated horribly to english.

Refering to the comment at the top, the elites helmets are that shape... not the head
