According to an interview at Shea Stadium with Jim Morrison's widow, "Mr Mojo Risin" was conceived by her. While waiting in the car for him to come out of a store, she jotted down his name on a piece of paper, rearranged the letters, and came up with "Mr Mojo Risin." She appeared at Shea Stadium because Mets third baseman Robin Ventura selected LA Woman to play after the final out of each Mets' home victory.

Even people who don't know it's the doors say "That sounds like he's saying Jim Morrison!" Lame.

I hate to disappoint but there is no way that Jim Morrison's widow was at Shea Stadium while Robin Ventura played there. She died in 1974.

According to "Riders on the Storm" John Densmore's biography of the Door's, Jim Morrison came up with "Mr. Mojo Risin" on his own and while looking at his written lyrics realized they were an anagram of his name...

The way I remember it being told to me ,the band was just hanging out getting high at a friends home one lazy afternoon.Jim began to play around with one of his friends kids toys, one of which was a small metal chalk-board type thing with the little plastic magnetic letters and numbers. He spelled out his name and began to move them about and just kinda stumbled upon the whole thing....I cant recall what word was first or anything...just that it was just a happy accident he thought was cool, thats all....nothing "mystical" or any of that! peace+love...
