I believe the message is a reference to a riff from Mystery Science Theater 3000. I can't remember the episode, but it's a common download from any of the many MST3K sound archives out there. The line was sung by the characters, with a jolly "woo-hoo!" added on the end.

Odd egg,but I know the orgins. In the game Escape Velocity (which is mac only) there is a hidden weapon, The forklifts. To get them you have to enter a code at exactly the right time. The game confirms you did it correctly by have a voice say, "We'll try to kill em with the forklifts."

The MST3K episodes in question are episode 310, "Fugitive Alien" and 318 "Star Force--Fugitive Alien II" In the first of these crappy movies, a guy named Rocky does, in fact, try to kill Ken--our really-an-alien-but-oddly-looks-just-like-a-japanese-guy-with-a-blond-wig hero--with a forklift, thus prompting Tom Servo to sing the now classic lines to the tune of the lame movie sound track "This is the song, written for the chase scene. This is the scene--Rocky and Ken! He tried to kill him with a forklift! Ole'!" This refrain was summarily repeated again and angain, especially in episode 318, in which the aforementioned Rocky and Ken again star, and have now become friends. Anyway, that's where the reference is from. Try to use it in daily conversation!

I did a little research and found that Mystery Science Theater 3000 episodes 310 “Fugitive Alien” and 318 “Star Force - Fugitive Alien II” both aired in 1991. This would have preceded the game “Escape Velocity” by Ambrosia Software that which was released in 1996.
