Sky Digital Set-top Box Easter Egg - Secret Engineers Menu

1. While on the Sky Digital channel, press [services] on the remote
2. Then select system setup and press [enter]
3. Now on the remote press [0] [1] and then [enter]
4. You will now be presented with a hidden menu that is used by engineers to set up your system. An interesting feature if "new installation" which enables you to reset the system if you are experiencing faults without having to pay someone to come out and repair it! Do use caution though on some other features as it was hidden for a reason.

This egg is brilliant!!! I was having trouble with my Digibox and rang Sky. They told me it would cost me £50 for them to send out an engineer. That night I found this Egg, tried it and it worked!!! Needless to say I cancelled the engineer and spent the £50 on more worthwhile things, like pizza and beer.

This easter egg is great. When something goes wrong with the box my parents keep calling out the engineer and give me the £50 to give him while they go to work. Now all i need to do is cancel the engineer, do it myself and keep the cash!!! :)

This is fantastic! Three weeks ago I paid a Sky engineer £65 to install an extension so that my kids could watch Sky in another room, the picture was really crappy but he said it was to do with the TV I was using and that was as good as it could get. I messed around with the output channel setting on this menu and now my kids can watch in glorious technicolour. Thanks SminkyPinky.

This menu is very useful if you want to add your own multiroom sky with only one sky box but beware if you are a sky+ user cos if you use the system reset it will wipe your harddrivs so you will lose all your recorded programs and series links

This is the Installer Menu and allows you to set the RF output settings and Telephone settings and reset the dish polarizer if the LNB should lockup. You can also trigger a option that checks out your telephone line and contacts BSKYB PLC which also checks that you are authorized to receive the programs that you have subscribed to and anyway has been modified do that you actualy require a PIN that only a bonified Installer can access this menu item.
