Miller's Crossing Easter Egg - Crew Members on Film

In the Coen Bros. 1989 Detective film, Gabriel
Byrne's Character goes to the apt of Clarence
"Drop" Johnson. The names on the mailboxes are
actually Art Department members. Look in the
credits: Scott Plauche: Art Dept Coordinator
Louis Medrano: Art Dept P.A. That was our joke
for the movie. I don't think Joel and Ethan really noticed until we were invited to an informal screening the film with same art dept during the filming of Barton Fink in Los Angeles at the Directors Guild.

bernie bernbaum's apartment is called "barton arms", perhaps because the coen brothers were writing "miller's crossing" and "barton fink" simultaneously.

the gunman who shoots up whiskey nick's is coen collaborator and co-worker, sam raimi. i realize he is credited as "snickering gunman", but that's still pretty cool.
