Maroon (Barenaked Ladies) Easter Egg - Hidden 13th Track!

1. Skip to the last song, Tonight Is The Night I Fell Asleep At The Wheel. Quite a mouthful, isn't it? This song is selection #12 for those of you who didn't catch the "13" in "Hidden 13th Track".
2. You can either listen through the thing (beware, the lyrics are kind of gory) or fast-forward to about three minutes in.
3. Wait a while, and - here it comes - a totally new song pops up!

The song is called "Hidden Sun" and is probably sung by keyboardist Kevin Hearn, who recovered from cancer shortly before recording "Maroon". It's a beautiful song about love and triumph, and lasts much longer than the mini-track at the end of their first CD, Gordon. The Barenaked Ladies have done it again!

This song is called "Hidden Sun" (coincidence?). There was a little sticker on the cellophane when I got it that said what it was.

The song is called "Hidden Sun." It's only on the special edition CD. It was written and sung by their keyboardist Kevin Hearn, about his recent battle with leukemia. I was pleasantly surprised to hear them perform it in concert recently; it's not really a crowd-pleaser type song and it's pretty personal stuff. Lovely song.

The hidden track is called "Hidden Sun" and it is only on the limited edition version of Maroon. There should have been a little blue sticker on the outside of the cellophane when you bought the CD telling you this.

OK, yeah, they pretty much have hidden tracks on every album...and some CDs are even enhanced to run on your CD ROM drive. There are usually stickers on the cellophane telling you this. What I am surprised about, though, is that they played "Hidden Sun" in concert. Where was that? I love that song, and it makes me cry every time I listen to it...

It's Hidden Sun, it seems to be about heaven or something similar... P.S. Here in England, we have another track, 'Inline Bowline,' on our Maroons.. So there, don't think you Americans have it all your way, just because you're closer to Canada than us... we even got 2 CDs for Stunt...

My cd isn't any special edition that I know of, and it doesn't have a sticker on the outside about the extra song, but it's still on there.

It's called Hidden Sun and I LOVE that song!!! =D Weird thing though, I borrowed it from the library and when i listened to it the song cut off at "You're the last thing on my-" and it ended, but then when I burned the same CD and listened to it, it went onto "mind" with the piano and the guy singing the semihigh (for a guy anyway) note and holding it, then the song came on and I was like... dude...
