Ahhh, I see Rich is one of the 'enlightened' ones who knows that wrestling is fake! Too bad he is still living in a dream world where people think that just because the outcomes fo the matches are 'faked', that also means that the wrestlers don't actually hit each other.

I just had to say this. i watched wrestlemania X-7 last night and it was so obvious when the ref handed stone cold and the rock the blood packets. you could totally tell cuz the camera had close ups all the time. but i still love wrestling and The Rock is way better then that redneck austin!!

Yeah, you know they don't actually have blood packets, if the blood is coming from their torso or anywhere but their face, they use razor blades hidden in their elbow pads, wrist bands or trunks but if it's on their face, it's a legitimate cut.

I am a wrestler, and we blade, no blood packets EVER, with the Exception of Chris Jericho who uses blood capsules in his mouth. We blade on the face too. And the tables are pre-cut.....the chairs are real metal folding chairs....Just to clear all that up.

Also, Rikishi was a wrestler in earlier years. He was a part of the tag-team the Head Shrinkers or sumthin. He alias then was "Fatu". Now his alias is Rikishi Phatu. Phatu and Fatu. Cool huh?

whoever makes fun of wrestling for being fake...try it sometime. I'm a indy wrestler trust me it hurts. Think about it have a 7' tall guy lift you over his head and drop you on concrete . Also look at guys like darren drozdof who was paralyzed in the ring.

He was also the Sultan too (guy with the red mask on his face remember?) Also, so what if wrestling is mostly fake? Most fans know that it is anyway. It's still good entertainment.

OK, several years ago in a match on NWA, Road Warrior Animal was thrown out of the ring by Bobby Eaton of the Midnight Express. Well, the wonderful cameraman happened to be on Animal at the time he reached underneath the ring and pulled something out. Afterwards, you could plainly see he was blading himself and, good golly, he started to bleed from his forehead. Little anatomy lesson here non-believers, a small cut to head will bleed profusely. Makes it look worse than it is. Also, look at many of the old timers today. Take a look at Dusty Rhodes or Ric Flair, their foreheads are scarred terribly from blading all those years. It's not too common as it used to be in wrestling, but it still happens. You used to see blading done on regular TV but since we are in a politically correct world nowadays blading is usually reserved for the pay per view events or during the later hour of the tv show.

Rikishi has wrestled twice in before his big-fat ass gimmick. He was previously "Just Say No" Fatu and the Sultan. To find out more old gimmicks (Crappy gimmicks, but really funny) check out www.wrestlecrap.com .

I just wanted to point out how weird I think it is we went from talking about Rikishi loving his kids to the reality of wrestling and blood.

If you have ever read anything you would know that a lot of the blood is real. The only made up things are the storys and who will win. When wrestlers go to hit each other they really do. But sometimes it back fires. In Mick Foleys first book, he says that in one match he was going to make this guy look really good by falling down to make the hit look stronger. Well Mick fell to soon, making it look like he wasn't going to be hit at all. It happens but it is just a mistake from the wrestlers.

The tables are actually made of compressed sawdust, and are not pre-cut. The tables should collapse with approx 400lbs of force-ie- someone being thrown through a table....

The story over Billy Gunn's old "Mr. Ass" gimmick goes likes this: Billy was named "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn for his run with The New Age Outlaws. The wrestlers in the back all chuckled at this silly, but risky name (It was among the first times WWF tried to get away with saying "ass" on the air.). Wrestlers backstage would tease him by only referring to him as "Bad", "Ass", or "Bad Ass", as if it were his first and last names. Fed up, Billy one day snapped back "Hey!...That's Mr. ASS to you!" A new name was born.

Rikishi also tugs on his his shirt every time he comes out as a tribute to his real life cousin, Yokozuna (Rodney Anoia) who unfortunately died.

Just to clear one thing up. If a wrestler bleeds after being hit by, say, barbed wire, it is because he is actually hit by it. Both men agree on this before the match, and when that "spot" arrives, the "victim" will brace himself. This is known as bleeding the hard-way.

I noticed on the WWF NO WAY OUT 2001 video, that at the end the match with HHH and Stone Cold, HHH was bleeding. I saw him have something shiny in his hands. Me and my mates think that it was a blade to make himself bleed.

Also, on the Rikishi note, when the big show comes out he circles his wrists with his finger and thumb three times to say "i love you" to his girl

Big Show also does something like that. Each time he comes down to the ring he grasps his right wrist, then his left, then his right again. This is a code for "I love you" to his girlfriend. So cute!

I would just like to point out that on Summerslam 2003 the main elimination chamber match. about 19-20 minutes in as goldberg knees triple H into the ring (first time HHH is in the ring) notice the referee inside the ring next to them. He goes under the foamy stuff (probably meant to hold construntion together) and pulls out a very shiny metal object and slides it along to the ref outside. Hmmm is that a blade i see???
