it would be more of an "egg" if someone knew why Jim decided to sing "stronger than dirt" at the end of the song :p

No way, he's saying 'stronger than dirt' because he was angry that the rest of the band had sold out to a laundry detergent commercial. This made him REALLY mad, and so he said that at the end of the song in order to upset the band (He was SO cool!).

Actually it was a car company that the doors sold a song to...the song was "Light My Fire" and the company was either Ford or Buick,I don't remember...but yes,Jim was furious.

Please if you are going to say something was done for a reason don't use a hollywood adaptation of the truth for that reason. Yes in the doors movie it says they sold "light my fire" to buick w/o Jim's consent but this is a lie being that they made all desisions as a group and Jim stopped them from doing this. The movie was so untrue on facts that Ray Manzierik, the doors keyboardist, was completly against it being released. And for the record I don't know why he said this but to this day no door's song has been used in a commercial.

ok has anyone thought about this angle.... 1) hippy, LSD 70s all of Jims songs were fire snakes earth the dark side of nature and sh*t. secondly he was so detatched from reality let alone main-stream that he probably didn't even know it was in an add or less likely, he has the stupid jingle in his head thought it sounded cool and like he did often at the time, said whatever came out of his head without thinking. and as for the commercial, why would a company want to sell grime cleaner using a song with nothing to do with cleaning products and the target audience hated jim morison (women in their 40s) come on people

The exact ending "Stronger Than Dirt" was taken from the Ajax Laundry Commercial which featured a white knight riding horseback holding a white jousting pole. The night would touch the jousting pole to a of clothing, and the clothing would magically just turn white. You can see this classic commercial for yourself by clicking this link. http://www.tvparty.com/g2c/ajax002.ram That's the TRUTH and I know it to be totally the truth because unlike many of you, I WAS THERE!
