SunOS/Solaris Easter Egg - You Can Tune a File System

In SunOS 4.1.1, I found that the man page for "tunefs" (a filesystem utility) contained this line under the BUGS heading:

"You can tune a file system, but you can't tuna fish."

This is also in the Free BSD man pages - certainly the latest ones (ver 5)

The other egg was in the nroff file for the tunefs man page. There was a comment near the BUGS section which went something like this: "If you remove this a Unix daemon will dog your footsteps until the time_t's roll around." I thought that was pretty good. But in the never ending struggle to blandify the world, some very ordinary person or process saw to it that it was removed for Solaris two (I couldn't use the numeral for two here because the overly anal spelling checker rejected it). I'd be interested to know if the comment still exist anywhere.

In all versions of Solaris I've tried, the joke has been made a little more subtle. In the tunefs man page's "SEE ALSO" section appears "fork(2)".

It's no longer present in Solaris 2.8 or any Solaris release since the 18th Febuary 1999 when the man page was last changed.
